Our Favorite Indianapolis Wedding and Event Venues
Much thought and consideration go into choosing the right venue for your wedding or event; it sets the tone for your entire celebration. As Indianapolis florists, we’re lucky to design flowers for weddings and events in some truly beautiful spaces throughout central Indiana. From lush garden settings and historic estates to sophisticated downtown venues, each space offers something unique and gives us a new opportunity to create florals that feel completely at home in their surroundings.
If you’re planning a wedding, corporate gathering, or other special event, here are five Indianapolis-area venues we especially love, and we think you will too.
Commission Row
Located in the heart of downtown Indianapolis, Commission Row is one of our favorite venues for celebrations that call for a polished, chic, and sophisticated atmosphere. With several versatile spaces including areas for intimate dinners, large gatherings, an outdoor patio, and a vibey speakeasy, Commission Row has a rich, intimate atmosphere that lends itself beautifully to elevated floral designs. We love designing for each of the unique spaces!
The team at Commission Row is unparalleled. As florists, we work in many venues and see firsthand how much professionalism and collaboration can vary among vendors and venue teams. The Commission Row staff consistently stands out for their attention to detail, thoughtful communication, and genuine willingness to work alongside their clients and vendors to create an exceptional experience for their guests.
Commission Row is an ideal choice for rehearsal dinners, weddings, private dinners, corporate events, and other celebrations where food, flowers, service, and atmosphere are equally important. It’s not only a beautiful place to celebrate, but you can trust that you’ll be in truly wonderful, caring hands there.
Side note: Even if you aren’t in the market for an event venue, stop in Commission Row or Mel’s, the basement speakeasy, for a great meal and drinks. Situated next to Gainbridge Fieldhouse, it’s the perfect spot to visit before or after Fever games, Pacers games, and concerts!
Mustard Seed Gardens
Mustard Seed Gardens in Noblesville offers the kind of setting that feels naturally suited to Willow & Star Flowers. (Fun fact: Ally, W+S’s owner, and her husband, Wes, were married at Mustard Seed in 2013.) We love how the property combines historic charm, natural yet well-maintained gardens, and beautiful event spaces, giving couples the opportunity to create a celebration that feels both refined and relaxed.
It’s particularly beautiful for couples who want their wedding flowers to feel romantic, organic, and connected to the season. We find the ability for events at Mustard Seed to flow freely between indoor and outdoor spaces especially appealing. The surroundings provide ample floral inspiration. Garden roses, seasonal foliage, vining greenery, textural flowers, and locally grown blooms all feel right at home here. (Another fun fact: While Ally was not yet a florist when she and Wes wed, they insisted all of their wedding flowers were locally grown.) We love designs that appear as though they could have been gathered directly from the gardens, and Mustard Seed is perfectly suited for garden-inspired designs.
As a locally, family-owned operation, you’re in excellent hands with the Mustard Seed team. It’s clear that they truly care about the couples they work with and the venue that they built where love can blossom.
Artisan Acres
Set on a sprawling property in Noblesville, Artisan Acres Estate provides an enchanting canvas for weddings big and small. It feels as though it were plucked from an old-world European country town. From the moment you arrive, charm and beauty await you and your guests around every turn. We especially love how the warm, welcoming atmosphere is enhanced by fragrant lavender hedges and eye-catching rows of dahlias upon your arrival to the property.
The family behind Artisan Acres has poured an extraordinary level of care into every detail of the property. From hand-picking the bricks that make up the barn floor to tending the dahlia field so every blossom is at its peak for an event, their thoughtfulness is evident everywhere you look. That attention to detail gives the venue a warmth and authenticity that’s difficult to replicate and makes the venue an especially beautiful setting for garden-inspired floral designs.
Ritz Charles Garden Pavillion
The Ritz Charles Garden Pavilion in Carmel lands on our “favorites” list and for good reason. Surrounded by beautiful landscaping and filled with natural light, the glass-enclosed pavilion allows you to experience a garden-like setting while still having the comfort and flexibility of an indoor celebration any time of year.
From a floral perspective, the Garden Pavilion offers endless possibilities. Because the gardens already provide such a beautiful backdrop, flowers can enhance the setting rather than completely transform it. Airy ceremony arrangements, abundant greenery, seasonal garden flowers, and elevated centerpieces all work beautifully within the space.
Laurel Hall
For couples drawn to historic architecture and a romantic estate setting, Laurel Hall is one of Indianapolis's most distinctive wedding venues. The historic mansion, beautiful grounds, and variety of indoor and outdoor spaces give celebrations here an intimate, residential quality while still being elevated enough for a formal occasion.
We especially love Laurel Hall because there are so many opportunities to create flower statements throughout the property. Garden-inspired flowers perfectly complement the surrounding landscape, and enhance the chapel, numerous mantels, staircases, and dining spaces. We love leaning into the old-world charm of Laurel Hall. Loose seasonal flowers, trailing greenery, flowering branches, and arrangements with a timeless garden quality look especially at home here. It’s a perfect venue for couples who want their wedding to feel especially romantic, collected, and timeless.
Venue Inspired Design: Flowers That Feel Like They Belong
Our favorite wedding and event designs aren't created independently of the venue. We consider the architecture, surroundings, season, light, table sizes, linens, and the way guests will move through the space before deciding where and how to use flowers. At Willow and Star Flowers, our approach is garden-inspired, seasonal, and intentionally a little unexpected. Whenever possible, we incorporate beautiful locally grown flowers alongside specialty blooms selected specifically for the event.
Planning a wedding or special event at Commission Row, Mustard Seed Gardens, Artisan Acres Estate, Laurel Hall, the Ritz Charles, or another Indianapolis-area venue? We'd love to help create flowers that feel as though they were always meant to be there.
